Pilotage Disciplinary Board

The pilots disciplinary board consists of a chairperson and four members. The chairperson is a lawyer, and the four members are registered pilots who are appointed on the recommendation of their regional corporation. The pilots disciplinary board is supported by a secretary. All members are appointed for a period of four years and can be reappointed. The disciplinary board only handles complaints in the first instance. The Board of Appeal for Business handles cases on appeal.

Complaint form

A disciplinary complaint can be filed against a registered maritime pilot if they act in violation of the manner in which a proper pilot should behave, or if they commit a violation of a regulation or a further provision issued pursuant to a regulation as referred to in Article 15 of the Pilotage Act.
